Latvian latNew member states of the European Union are obliged to adopt the euro. In order to adopt the euro the Latvian lat has to participate in the European Exchange Rate Mechanism II (ERM II) for at least two years. The Latvian lat is allowed to fluctuate 15% from it's central rate. Since 2 May 2005 the Latvian lat is an ERM II currency. The central rate of the Latvian lat is 0.702804 LVL to 1 euro. |
